From the beginning ..
The founder’s grandfather, a cleaner by profession, could sometimes be perceived as somewhat grim. Nevertheless, he was meticulous when it came to his wardrobe and dressed with a certain elegance. He didn't have an abundance of clothes, but the ones he owned he knew how to take care of. The fine clothes were brushed after use, starched collars, pressed trousers. Stepping out of his shoes, he stuffed them and followed up with meditative polishing. His garments seemed somehow incorporated with him, not something he merely wore on the outside; perhaps because he wore the clothes long enough to make a mark on them. And not the other way around.

Somewhere along the way there came a change, probably when mass-produced, cheap and often substandard clothes were introduced. Due to wear and tear, the idea of ​​clothing care seemed remote. All this happened in the space of just a generation or two. These days, when quality materials and the love of the craft itself are back in fashion the demand for proper garment care is resurgent. With this in mind, Tangent GC created an excellent range of garment care products, which don’t originate in the chemical industry, but products that naturally and effectively extend the life of your garments.

And today ..
David Samuelsson, founder, when asked to sum up their philosophy, states that it would be four little words: To cut the excess. Tangent GC really try to do just that. When we succeed, only the important remains. When we remove the garish colours from the packaging, you are allowed to breathe in the purity that remains.

When scenting the products, they never use complicated or overpowering perfumes, what remains are the natural solitary scents now associated with the brand. By excluding dangerous chemicals, they use natural and organic ingredients in their place. They manufacture in their own factory, here at home in Sweden, and avoid unnecessary transport.

They started with clothing care products - the letters GC in the name - stand for Garment Care. Today, they have expanded the range beyond detergents and offer exquisite soap, hand cream, lotions and fragrance, continuing to create sustainably for you and your wardrobe.
