At GRIBB, mushrooms are more than a product — they are a lifelong passion. Founded by Cláudia and Ion, the brand was born from a deep fascination with the extraordinary kingdom of fungi. The more they explored the intelligence, complexity and potential of mushrooms, the more convinced they became that functional mushrooms would play an important role in the future of human health and wellbeing.
The name GRIBB originates from the Russian word 'grib' (гриб), meaning mushroom, a fitting tribute to the remarkable organisms at the heart of everything they do.
Unlike many mushroom supplement brands that source bulk powders from overseas suppliers, GRIBB controls the entire process from spore to bottle. Every mushroom is cultivated, harvested, processed and extracted on their certified organic urban farm in Portimão, in Portugal's sunny Algarve region. No imported mushrooms. No white-label products. No shortcuts.
GRIBB began by cultivating gourmet mushrooms but quickly recognised the growing need for transparency, quality and trust within the functional mushroom market. Today, the brand specialises in certified organic functional mushroom extracts that are grown locally, dual extracted, full-spectrum and produced at a potent 10:1 ratio.
Sustainability is woven into every aspect of the business. Their urban farm was created by repurposing an empty shop in the centre of Portimão, transforming it into a productive growing environment with carefully controlled air, water and cultivation conditions. Sawdust waste from local wood workshops in nearby Monchique is given a second life as growing substrate, creating a circular production model that reduces waste while supporting local communities.
Certified organic by NATURALFA, GRIBB operates according to principles of environmental responsibility, social equality and community education. Their cultivation methods minimise water and energy consumption, reduce agricultural waste and support a more sustainable food system.
